REEM-B, unveiled around 2008, was PAL Robotics' second-generation humanoid and a significant step up from REEM-A: a bipedal humanoid robot notable, at the time, for its strength. REEM-B could carry payloads of up to 12 kg, which made it one of the strongest humanoid robots in the world when it was built. It used laser range finders on its feet to map and navigate its environment.

Significance

REEM-B demonstrated that PAL Robotics could build a genuinely strong, autonomous bipedal humanoid.
