The T-HR3 is fundamentally a teleoperation platform — it is designed to be controlled remotely by a human operator whose movements it mirrors in real time. It represented a major shift from Toyota's earlier humanoids (the instrument-playing partner robots), which relied on pre-programmed motion, toward a robot that can safely manage physical interaction with the real world under human guidance.

Significance
